On October 13, 2016, President Ilham Aliyev attended the opening of the Baku Steel Company Oxygen Plant and launched the plant. Having familiarized himself with the enterprise, the Head of State wished success to the staff.
An agreement on the construction of a Metallurgical Complex worth more than € 1m in Sumgayit was signed between Baku Steel Company LLC and Danieli company (Italy) in December 2016. More than half of the metal products in that complex are expected to be export-oriented. The products to be manufactured under the project will fully meet the demand in Azerbaijan.
Baku Steel Company has launched two new modern plants on March 1, 2016; a Steel melting Plant, for the production of round billets, and a plant for the production of casing,tubing and general purpose pipes.
- After major renovation, Baku Steel Company has put into operation new production facilities furnished with modern equipment. The production has grown fourfold after the renovation.
- The international Caspian Energy Award and Caspian Business Award are presented to political leaders, government officials, diplomatic representatives for their contribution to the national economy, heads of state and private companies according to the results of the online poll in fifty Caspian-Black Sea and Baltic countries over one year. It is no coincidence that Baku Steel Company always favouring its country's interests and contributing to the country's politics won such an international award in 2011.
