At the “Baku Steel Art 2025” symposium, Ulash Urakov presented the work entitled “Source.” “The circular form symbolizes the Earth and its closed water cycle, while the vertical lines in the center recall a powerful stream rising from the depths. The jugged geometric edges within the circle reflect the interconnection between the nature and humanity, mountains and rivers, creating the image of a spring where the energy of the earth merges with the movement of water. The combination of smooth and broken lines expresses the contrast between the softness of water and the hardness of the rocks it passes through.

The monument is open from the inside, allowing water and sky to become part of the composition; its perception changes depending on the viewing point and time of day.”
